Real Estate Claims: Landlord - tenant disputes for real estate property located in Washington Township.

Civil claims: Civil claims based upon contract or tort in which the amount requested does not exceed ten thousand dollars ($10,000) and civil claims to recover personal property.

Items needed to File

All claims: Name, address, city, and zip code for all parties, reason for the lawsuit, and an $89.00 filing fee plus $15.00 for service on each defendant named. Defendants who request a jury trial must submit payment of $157.00 to transfer the case to the Marion County Superior Court.

Only corporations are required to have an attorney, for claims over $6000.00. If the defendant fails to appear in court, a default judgment may be entered against the defendant. Either party has 30 days from the date that a final appealable judgment is entered to file an appeal at the Indiana Court of Appeals.
